Born in Helmond (1965), she studied Chemical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. Immediately after her studies she joined Shell in 1989 as a chemical engineer. Since then she has held several positions both at home and abroad.
Between 1997 and 2007 she worked in Australia and Malaysia. Before becoming CEO of Shell Nederland, she was Vice President Integrated Gas & LNG (liquid gas), where she was responsible for the development of LNG activities, including the design and development of Floating LNG and LNG as fuel for the transport sector.
Marjan is married and has two children.
